Florestan Festival 2026
An evening of musical storytelling, featuring works by the Danish String Quartet, Gabriela Lena Frank, and Franz Schubert — performed by Shenae Akagi and Erika Hubbard, violins, Madison Marshall, viola, and Mira Larson, cello.
GRIT summer camp
We are excited to offer 5 days of music-making, creativity, collaboration, games, and artistic exploration for our students. Camp activities will include ensemble playing, musicianship, rhythm and movement activities, creative projects, outdoor games, and community-building experiences in a supportive environment.

Sue Buzzard is a violinist with an eclectic background in classical, jazz, folk, and improvisation. Combining the best of contemporary and classical worlds, her passion lies in empowering string players to tap into their skill and creativity. Sue performs with the Hot House West Swing Orchestra, and operates Sue Buzzard Studio, teaching violin and jazz to students of all ages.
She has designed three Violin Methods courses for Interlochen Online, bringing world-class performing arts education to players around the globe.As a D'Addario educational clinician, she teaches educational workshops in schools across the country.
SAU Celebration Concert
This performance will include our GRIT violins and PSM Suzuki students.
Community Art and Music Day
Our Community art and music day will include food trucks, a school open house and more!
Avenues Street Fair
Come see us at the Avenues street fair. We will have our instrument petting zoo and performances all day.
Molly Gebrian Teacher Workshop
Dr. Molly Gebrian is a professional violist and scholar with a background in cognitive neuroscience and author of Learn Faster, Perform Better: A Musician’s Guide to the Neuroscience of Practicing. As a performer, she prioritizes the works of living composers and those who have traditionally been excluded from the culture of classical music. She holds degrees in both music and neuroscience from Oberlin College and Conservatory, New England Conservatory of Music, and Rice University. Previously, she was the viola professor at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and the University of Arizona. After a decade of teaching viola at the collegiate level, she joined the faculty at New England Conservatory of Music in Fall 2024 as the inaugural Teaching Artistry Scholar-in-Residence to teach about the science of practicing.

Peterson School of Music has been invited to perform with Time for Three at the Deer Valley Music Festival. We are so excited for this wonderful opportunity!
Dr. Sun-A Park Master Class
During this masterclass, Dr. Park will be working with several of our piano students on pieces by Schumann, Chopin, Glinka, and more. We encourage all students, families, and friends to attend!
Admission is free and open to all. If you would like to support our masterclass series and other educational programs, a suggested donation of $20 at petersonschoolofmusic.org is greatly appreciated.
