Lorena Restrepo

GRIT violin

I’m a Colombian violinist and early childhood music educator trained in the Suzuki Method. I have experience teaching beginner to intermediate violin students, and I like working with adults who have always dreamed of learning an instrument but never had the chance.

My passion for teaching goes beyond music — I love connecting with communities through education. I take joy in sharing my culture and bringing diversity into my classes, creating an inclusive environment where students can learn from different musical traditions and perspectives.

That’s why my work with the GRIT Project (Growth, Resilience, Instinct, Tenacity) is so meaningful to me. I grew up in a vulnerable community with a similar program, so I deeply understand the impact that music and mentorship can have from the inside out.
